It is also the largest city in central China. lt's animportant base for industry， science and education， and key transportation1）hub. Located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River， Wuhan isdivided by the Han River into three towns， which are Wuchang， Hankou and Hanyang. Benefiting from a good geographic location， the city has well established railway2）infrastructure and industry， similar to Chicago in North America， 3）hence it's known as"Oriental Chicago". It is a symbol of commercial and modern Wuhan. It isalso one of most famous commercial streets in China together with Wangfujing Street inBeijing， Nanjing Road in Shanghai， Heping Road in Tianjing and the Central Avenue inHarbin. Along the street there are buildings in variousstyles， architecture that housed old banks， stores，restaurants and statues depicting the everyday life ofpeople in Wuhan.
